There used to be two versions of Crippin available – a full version which allowed passwords of up to 255 characters, and a free version which used very short passwords (it truncated them to 2 characters). The free version provided fully functional file compression, but only limited security (enough to prevent access by toddlers and grannies, but not professional hackers).

Since version 2.15, the full version is now free. You can download it below. There is also a variant with a PocketMac installer, for those who would rather use a Mac for installation. Plus, of course, good-old CAB files for devices with no desktop partnerships. If you don’t know which CAB file to use, chances are it should be the “ARM” version.
